Alis (Qinyuan) Xu

Alis is a second year medical student at UBC Vancouver. In 2016, she completed her Honours B.Sc. in Cellular, Anatomical and Physiological Sciences at UBC. Her graduating thesis focused on the cell adhesion molecule Integrin and CRISPR/Cas9 site directed mutagenesis technique. In medical school, she turned her research attention to disease-related translational research. She is currently working on several projects including describing retinal biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and investigating the role of lipids in Age-related Macular Degeneration.
